Alert level 2 restrictions

On Sunday President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the country would move to COVID-19 Adjusted Level 2 lockdown today (13 September 2021).

Below are the restrictions that are in place:

  • Curfew is from 11PM-4AM
  • Alcohol sales from retail outlets is permitted on weekdays 10AM-PM
  • Gatherings limited to 250 people indoors and 500 people outdoors
  • Funerals however remain restricted to 50 people, 2-hour funeral service, and no night vigil or after tears.
  • Wearing masks in public spaces is mandatory
  • Night clubs are closed to the public
  • Traveling to and from the Republic is allowed
