Renew your asylum seeker or refuge permit by 30 September!

The department of Home Affairs is calling upon qualifying asylum seekers and refugees to renew their expired visas and statuses online before the existing blanket expiry date of 30 September 2021. If you applied in the months of April, May, June, and July and still did not receive any response, we encourage you to re-submit your application. If you are facing challenges and require assistance on the process, please contact the closest UNHCR’s legal or social assistance partner listed on the Help South Africa website: help.unhcr.org/southafrica Where a visa or permit is issued and sent via email, it will include an email address at the bottom that allows a person (for example, your employer) or organization (for example, your bank) to write to the DHA to verify that the permit is indeed a valid one.
