Passport processing temporarily suspended

The Consulate General of Nigeria in Johannesburg has temporarily suspended passport processing. This as the country has returned to coronavirus lockdown level 4 from 28 June -11 July 2021.

The Mission says, in a notice issued today, the decision was taken in adherence to regulations outlined by the South African government; including the prohibition of all gatherings.

Passport processing will resume as soon as the current lockdown regulations are lifted.

“The Consulate General takes this opportunity to call on Nigerians in South Africa to strictly adhere to health and safety measures prescribed by relevant authorities at this time,” the Mission concludes.
