Nigerian Consulate to close for the Eid el-Kabir holidays

The Nigerian consulate in Johannesburg announced to the general public that the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has declared Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st July 2021 as Public Holiday to commemorate the Eid el-Kabir. The Consulate will be closed on the above specified days and resume its normal official duties on Thursday 22nd July 2021.

Eid al-Adha is an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (also known as Abraham) to follow Allah’s (God’s) command to sacrifice his son. Muslims around the world observe this event.
