Access Bank Seek Collaboration With the Nigerian Consulate

Officials of South Africa (SA) Division of Access Bank of Nigeria Plc, led by Mr. Thomas Nkuna, National Manager Access Bank SA, paid a courtesy visit to the H. E. Abdul Malik M. Ahmed, Consul General, Consulate General of Nigeria, Johannesburg SA, on 29th July 2021. The delegation took the opportunity to inform that the bank which recently secured a license to operate in the country will begin operations in August 2021. The officials sought to collaborate with the Mission, especially with regards to mobilizing the alleged 800,000 Nigerian population in SA to take advantage of services offered by the Bank.

The CG H. E. Abdul Malik M. Ahmed, in response, thanked the officials for the visit and particularly congratulated the MD & CEO of Access Bank Plc Dr. Herbert Wigwe for his tireless efforts which eventually led to the granting of the operational license. He also commended the Bank for blazing the trail and expressed the hope that this would pave the way for other Nigerian companies to set up in SA. H. E. Abdul Malik M. Ahmed, promised to deploy the platform offered by the Mission to sensitize the Nigerian Community about the commencement of operation by the Bank
