Applicants awaiting passport collection asked to be patient

The Consulate General of Nigeria Johannesburg is appealing to Nigerians who applied for passport renewal, completed biometric data capturing, and were given collection slip bearing PENDING 23 -PENDING 33 to exercise a little patience in waiting for the production and collection of their passports.

The Mission in a communique has said that they have during the period of May-June pushed hard and obtained 6179 passport booklets from the headquarters in Abuja to clear up the backlog of applications incurred as the result of the COVID-19 pandemic and consequent regulations.

“The 6179 booklets have almost been exhausted. There are a total of 643 produced passports awaiting collection.”

“The Mission currently awaits booklets from the headquarters in Abuja to enable us to continue the production and clearance of PENDING 23 – PENDING 33 applications,” the Consulate General says.

Meanwhile, applicants with collection slips bearing PENDING7 – PENDING 22 are invited on Wednesday and Friday to the Mission to collect their passports.
