The Consulate General of Nigeria Johannesburg is appealing to Nigerians who applied for passport renewal, completed biometric data capturing, and were given collection slip bearing PENDING 23 -PENDING 33 to exercise a little patience in waiting for the production and collection of their passports.
The Mission in a communique has said that they have during the period of May-June pushed hard and obtained 6179 passport booklets from the headquarters in Abuja to clear up the backlog of applications incurred as the result of the COVID-19 pandemic and consequent regulations.
“The 6179 booklets have almost been exhausted. There are a total of 643 produced passports awaiting collection.”
“The Mission currently awaits booklets from the headquarters in Abuja to enable us to continue the production and clearance of PENDING 23 – PENDING 33 applications,” the Consulate General says.
Meanwhile, applicants with collection slips bearing PENDING7 – PENDING 22 are invited on Wednesday and Friday to the Mission to collect their passports.
