The time is now for Nigerians who mean well for their community and country to come together to evaluate and proffer solutions to critical issues that are affecting and may soon have dire effects on them, their families and friends.
For over three decades of Nigerians migrating to South Africa, negative narratives and stigmatisation persist and continue to plague many law-abiding Nigerians who are often boxed together with a few unlawful of their fellow country men and women in South Africa.

The bad publicity about the Nigerian image has almost reached the point of no return and a ticking time bomb may soon release dangerous explosion anytime if not well managed. Past and recent experiences have shown that no other community in South Africa has suffered as much attacks as the Nigerian Community. The community is one of the most targeted groups during all xenophobic attacks on foreign black nationals in South Africa. Unfortunately, the attitudes and activities of a few Nigerians are worsening the situation.

In view of the above issues, The Nigerian Voice Newspaper has initiated the Nigeria Community Conference to bring together members of the Nigerian Community, members of Nigeria Diplomatic Missions, some South African Government Departments and friends of Nigeria to sit down together and deliberate with the aim of proffering solutions to deal with some of the major problems affecting the community.

Besides this, we believe that the positive contributions of Nigerians in South Africa to the country at large should no longer be overlooked and undervalued. It is evident truth that Nigerians have established themselves widely in the academic, medical, business and entertainment sectors with huge financial strength and as such it is important to empower and assist them with an informative and empowering platform that will support them and their businesses as well as provide an enabling environment for them to co-exist peacefully with the host community and with other Diaspora communities.

The 2018 Nigeria Community conference seeks to address these issues. The conference is segmented into two (2) sessions with five (5) panelists on each of the sessions. The panelists will consist of representatives and experts that will be drawn from various South African and Nigerians agencies and organisations.

The sessions and panelists are highlighted below:
