OVER 100 CONVICTED GAUTENG CRIMINALS GRADUATE

JOHANNESBURG – At least 127 convicted criminals across Gauteng have graduated with various higher education qualifications.

Among those who graduated is Sindisiwe Manqele, the woman convicted of the 2015 murder of her boyfriend, rapper Nkululeko Flabba Habedi.

For other offenders, it is the feeling of making their loved ones proud, after the disappointment of having to go to prison.

A school at the Boksburg Correctional Centre was built by the offenders – with their bare hands – as part of skills development.

Some juvenile convicts are looking to acquire their Matric certificates – even behind the concrete walls of the prison.

Perhaps in years to come, it will assist in a fresh start, outside the confines of prison.
